Effective June 22, 2026, new First Aid certification requirements came into effect in Ontario.
All workplace First Aid and CPR training programs must now comply with the requirements established by the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) of Ontario (WSIB) and the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) Standard Z1210:24.
As part of this transition, several First Aid course names have changed. While the course titles are different, the certification requirements, learning outcomes, and practical skills remain substantially the same.
Blended learning options continue to be available for both Basic and Intermediate First Aid programs in accordance with CSA standards.
Course Name Changes Effective June 22, 2026

Heaven Can Wait First Aid is fully compliant with all current WSIB and CSA requirements and continues to provide recognized First Aid and CPR certification throughout Ontario. Here’s how your online/blended First Aid and CPR training works
-
Part 1. Online
Choose a course you would like to complete. Here you will find all of the topics that will be covered in that specific course along with other important details. This web-based portion will provide you with the theory and knowledge to educate and prepare you for your in-class training. You will be provided with your own specific login details and password. Your progress will be automatically saved so you can come and go as you please. You will also need to choose a date from the calendar to sign up for the in-class portion of your training.
Once you have successfully completed the online portion of your chosen program, you will receive an electronic certificate confirming completion of the online component. This certificate serves as WSIB-recognized proof of temporary certification and is valid for 60 days.
Upon successful completion of your in-person training session, your full certification will be issued and emailed to you on the next business day.
Important: WSIB Ontario requirements and CSA Standard Z1210:24 require that the online component of a blended First Aid certification program be completed in full prior to attending the in-person training session. As a result, participants who have not completed the online component before the start of class will not be permitted to attend or participate in the in-person session.
Participants who arrive without having completed the online component will be unable to receive practical training, complete certification requirements, or receive certification. In these circumstances, a new course registration and full payment will be required to reschedule training.
These requirements are established by WSIB Ontario and CSA Standard Z1210:24 and apply to all approved blended First Aid certification programs.
